1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Writer’s High website and services. By accessing or using our platform, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use our services.
2. About Us
We provide an online platform connecting students with independent tutors for educational purposes. Writer’s High does not provide tutoring services directly; tutors are independent contractors and not employees of Writer’s High.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to register an account. If under 18, you must use the platform with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian.
4. Account Registration
- Users must register to use certain features of the platform.
- You must provide accurate, current information and keep your account secure.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
5. Our Role
- We act as a facilitator connecting writers and tutors.
- We are not a party to any agreement between tutors and witers.
- We are not liable for the content or quality of reviews delivered.
6. Tutor Responsibilities
Tutors agree to:
- Provide accurate qualifications and identity information.
- Comply with all applicable UK laws (including tax obligations and safeguarding laws).
- Not solicit or accept payment outside of the platform.
7. Student Responsibilities
Students agree to:
- Use the platform for lawful educational purposes only.
- Make payments only through the platform.
- Treat tutors with respect and patience.
8. Payments and Fees
- Payments are processed securely via Stripe
- Tutors set their own rates; we deduct a service commission.
- Tutors are paid after reviews are completed and submitted back to the writer.
9. Cancellations and Refunds
- In the case of a tutor delivering a script to a writer without sufficient feedback, the writer will receive a refund of the service charge they sent to the tutor (excl. the admin fee).
- If a Tutor delivers the writer’s script back to the writer late, there will be a 30% refund of the total price of the service (incl. all platforms fees) and subsequently the tutors payout will be reduced.
- Refunds are at the discretion of the Platform in cases of disputes.
10. User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the platform for fraudulent, harmful, or unlawful purposes.
- Harass, abuse, or discriminate against other users.
- Circumvent the platform to conduct off-platform transactions.
11. Intellectual Property
All content on the platform, including logos, branding, and proprietary software, is the property of Writer’s High or its licensors. You may not use or reproduce it without written permission.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted under UK law, Writer’s High shall not be liable for:
- Loss of profit, business, or data;
- Any indirect or consequential loss;
- Issues arising from tutor performance and outcomes.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death, personal injury, or fraud.
13. Dispute Resolution
We encourage users to resolve disputes amicably by contacting us. If unresolved, legal disputes shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
14. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any user account that breaches these Terms or misuses the platform. Users may delete their accounts at any time.
15. Privacy
We process your personal data in accordance with the UK GDPR and our Privacy Policy. You have rights under data protection law, including the right to access, rectify, or erase your data.
16. Amendments
We may revise these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or via the platform. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.

18. Consumer Rights
These Terms do not affect your statutory rights under UK consumer law. You may be entitled to a "cooling-off period" under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 for certain services booked online.
